About Me Professionally
I graduated from Texas State University with a Masters degree in Social Work in 2010 and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Texas (#54492) and New Mexico (#SWB-2024-0015). I worked in the non profit sector for several years that included settings in addiction, low income counseling and family system work.
After working in the public sector for several years, I launched a private practice in 2015 and started to witness deep healing in clients. I have found this work to be a very rewarding part of my life.
I primarily utilize the framework of Internal Family Systems (parts work), with a blend of somatic psychotherapy. I also utilize the lens of Polyvagal Theory and am an EMDR clinician. I work primarily through an experiential approach with these modalities. This means, we bring into focus your emotional experience, nervous system responses, and relational dynamics between you and me in real time during our sessions versus just talking about your experience. I have found that becoming more aware of our internal experience while fully present and embodied allows a pathway for deep healing.
I have completed a Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy Certification from Institute of Integrative Psychiatry.

My Take on Therapy
I do not pathologize you. I hold the framework that all parts of us have meaning and information. I come from a holistic perspective in my work with clients. I consider all parts of your experience in treatment: body and stress responses, emotional responses, how we think about ourselves and the world and protections that we have developed to cope. I view myself more as a guide to help you discover all parts of yourself that need attention and attunement, helping you access your internal ability to heal. It is very important to me that you feel empowered and heard in our sessions; therefore, for the time that we are together for each appointment my upmost goal is to be fully present with you. I also value being transparent and down-to-earth with people in all areas of my life and bring these values into the therapeutic relationship with the clients I work with.
My Personal Take on Healing
I started my healing journey with a more intentional focus about a decade ago. Throughout the years, I have engaged in many different healing modalities including bodywork, energy work, trauma therapy, psychedelic therapy and meditation as part of my healing path. For me, it hasn't been "one thing" that has helped me. It's everything I have engaged in. Although I have much more healing to do, I have more spaciousness now internally. I don't live with constant anxiety and panic attacks any longer and I am continually gaining awareness of the deeper parts in my psyche and body that need healing and attention. I am committed to continuing my journey of self-discovery. I am walking alongside of every client I have the honor of working with.
